We own the night!

•April 25, 2008 • Leave a CommentThis is the latest Antiwar/ Peace/Palestinian demonstration that took part in central London. It was full of energy as always but the 50 meter long, 10 meter wide Palestinian flag added a very dramatic tone to it. It was absolutely spectacular! So I spent most of my time marching and shooting infront or beside the flag procession. I only had my old EOS film SLR with me and just a few rolls of 400TX. Since 2002, when the Stop the War coalition started its long campaign i photographed nearly all of the demos and always in B&W. This is the first time I wished i had some colour film with me, mainly because of the gorgeous Palestinian flag.
At the end of the demo, I finally got to meet Tony Benn (is that how you spell his last name?) and briefly had a chat with him. I have som many shots of him I must scann them upload them.
The Inn in the Green
•February 27, 2008 • 1 CommentWell it has taken me a while but I finally started shoots in my local bar, the Inn in the Green. This is a completely different venue than the ones Im used to i.e. “the peace ‘n love” style rave parties. There is a constant edgy tension at the Inn which sometimes reminds me of a Pedro Almodovar film set. Relationships at boiling point, passionate rock performances, hysterical fashion statements and of course the frequent visits of famous stars which amid the chaotic background tend to pass through completely unnoticed. The Inn has become such an amusing park for me that many times I visit it without the company of any friends. Last Friday i went again on my own. Here are some of the shots. Well, it ll take me a while to scan all this film. Ok, here is the first shot when a fight was about to kick at the end of the gig. It’s an interesting relation shot, it reminds me one of Jocelyn’s from the firm. Yeah, I wish. Lol!
